TRUST SHEETS
Every week, the counselors will let the campers have a night unsupervised to themselves - this night is known as Mingle Night, and is a chance for campers to let down their hair, have fun, make friends and get puppy crushes...
...And it's also an excellent time to kill someone unnoticed.
Each week, players will turn in a list of everyone else in the game, sorted into Trust, Distrust, and Kill.
The list is an entirely OOC activity - based on IC CR, of course, but characters aren't ICly turning in sheets to the camp counselors. That'd just be silly.
List characters under the three categories, and use the "IC plans" section on the form to give specifics on what your character wants to do that night. Players can choose to have their character stay alone like a loser, but be aware that this will result in a lack of an alibi and may possibly get them killed depending on who they trust and distrust that night.
The mods will go over the lists and then tell you who your character ended up hanging out with that night and the specifics of what they did, which you can then thread out in private. If you end up being chosen for a kill, we'll pp both of you and work things out from there.
Trust sheets are due every Tuesday, at 8pm EST.
Trust is passive, and what it means is that your character would be willing to spend time alone with that character during Mingle Night. Multiple characters may be assigned to one another!
Distrust is both passive and aggressive - it means your character distrusts another character, and is looking out to protect themselves if another character made a move to kill them on mingle night. However, they will not do anything if the character they are staying with is friendly.
Kill is aggressive and only used if the character is intentionally looking to kill someone, so if your character is willing to murder everyone there, but that particular night wants to stay in and brave the camp showers, you would not put kill.
Trust + Trust pairs will be able to cite each other as alibis, because they were together all night, and may also receive clues or other goodies.
However, the counselors want to see their campers making new friends, so they'll make sure people can't just hang out with each other every single mingle night.
Kill + Trust or Kill + Kill pairs will result in someone dying.
But, just because you have this matchup with someone doesn’t necessarily mean that it will go through - as we’re limiting murders to one at a time (unless we decide to have a doubles night).
Distrust + Trust pairs will will have a peaceful, if slightly rocky night.
Distrust + Distrust pairs, due to their mutual distrust in each other, result in someone dying. Just like the killing pairs, this doesn't mean that it will go through - as this pairing is lower priority than a kill pairing.
Distrust + Kill pairs, however, are a block against a murder. Due to their inherent distrust of the would-be killer, the distruster will not allow the killer to murder them. However, they may still be stuck with their attempted murderer for the rest of the night, so that's awkward.
In your time in camp, and as Mingle nights come and go, characters will begin to get more paranoid as time goes on. Each trust sheet's categories and the interactions on Mingle Night either adds or decreases to the paranoia of your character, and the more characters that grow paranoid, the more the general level of paranoia in the camp increases.
There are tiers to the Paranoia with general effects, and potential personal ones week by week, which will be sent privately to the players as they hit the requirements. If enough campers hit a tier, the entire camp will be bumped to that tier and suffer the general effects.
The Paranoia tier list is as follows:
The starting tier, with no special requirements or obligations. Characters are 100% normal, and may freely put down trust, distrust, or kill on their trust sheets as they like.
Characters will begin to feel as if they are watched occasionally, have minor moments of anxiety, and become irritable and snappish at times, but otherwise feel normal. They must put at least one character in the 'distrust' portion on their sheet.
Characters constantly feel as if they are being watched, become much more anxious, and may behave erratically in order to try and shake off the constant watching. Examples include trying to cover their heads and faces, compulsively trying to patch any holes or cracks in the walls, and reacting badly/violently to people staring at them for too long. They may have occasional hallucinations at this point, and act somewhat off due to the constant paranoia, more easily becoming emotional or even violent when pushed. In this stage, their pupils become catlike and gain a faint pattern on the iris. They must put at least three characters in the 'distrust' portion on their sheet.
Characters are convinced they are going to be killed by the watching eyes, and will have visual and auditory hallucinations telling them that other campers are attempting to kill them, that no one can be trusted, that the other campers are with 'them', feeling that something is under their skin and self harming, etc. Outright accusations of murder or ill intent focused at other players is common, and the character may even attempt to kill others or themselves before they are killed. They cannot place more than 4 characters in the 'trust' portion on their sheet.
